About Jonathan Mendoza
Jonathan Mendoza was raised in the Inland Empire. He graduated from John W. North High School in Riverside, California. He then attended and graduated from Riverside Community College. Thereafter, wanting to explore a new setting, he attended the University of California, Irvine where he majored in Social Ecology.
Knowing that he wanted to be an advocate for the people he interned at the Orange County Public Defender. He then came back to his home community and attended law school at the University of La Verne, College of Law in Ontario, California. Needless to say, he was eager in becoming a zealous advocate for the people in his community. While at the University of La Verne, Jonathan was a law clerk at the Law Offices of the Public Defender, Riverside County. He enjoyed volunteering his time and energy in helping indigent clients facing criminal charges. He was also a student-attorney for the Justice and Immigration Clinic (JIC) at the University of La Verne. JIC provides representation to immigrants seeking asylum or alternative forms of humanitarian relief in the United States due to political, religious, and other human rights persecution. He also served as president of the Hispanic National Bar Association, La Verne Chapter.
After law school, Jonathan once again volunteered at the Law Offices of the Public Defender, Riverside County as a post-bar law clerk. In 2011, the hard work paid off, because the organization hired Jonathan. Since that time Jonathan has successfully handled thousands of cases, obtaining positive results for his clients both through negotiation and in trial. In 2017, eager to expand his commitment to social justice and the protection of individuals’ constitutional rights, Jonathan formed Empire Law, Inc. As a former Public Defender, Jonathan is equipped with vast experience and, as a result, the confidence to help guide you through the legal process. He is accustom to litigating and welcomes it. Jonathan is fluent in Spanish. He continues to exemplify the hard lessons learned in his childhood, by providing services to others fighting through some of the struggles he is all too familiar with. Jonathan has made advocacy his central focus. |
